The lady with the cart... she took my duo-tang
Subject line is something that I once said to Chris while in a half-awake state. I have no earthly idea what I was dreaming that led me to make that statement. Chris and I still use it as shorthand for "random stuff is in my brain at this moment in time; do not adjust your set."
You know how people said the kids who play the characters in the Harry Potter movies would eventually have to be replaced as they got older? Well, the guy who played Tom Riddle is 27. And the girl who plays Moaning Myrtle is 39. Hee.
I guess it makes a difference, though, when you're playing a ghost. And I never did really buy Tom Riddle as a teenager.
It's astonishing how many of my very favourite movie moments in the world are in the LOTR movies. Just in The Return of the King, there's the lighting of the beacons from Gondor to Rohan, the scene where King Theoden says "And Rohan will answer!", Eowyn's "I am no MAN!", Aragorn's speech "But it is not THIS day!", and, one of my favourite bathos-moments evah:
Denethor: Abandon your post!! Flee! Flee for your life!!!
Gandalf: ::whack::
Denethor: ::crumple::
Gandalf: Prepare for battle!

Although, personally, stuff with Denethor kinda irks me. I've gotten over it now, I think. It bothered me more on my first viewing of ROTK... I don't know, I just didn't like how they handled his character. In fact, it was kind of like how I felt watching Faramir in TT. But I've gotten over that too, so. Whatever.
And about the kids' ages, my friend and I were saying exactly that a few days ago, about Tom Riddle, I mean. There are tons of movies about kids supposedly in high school, played by people in their mid to late 20's. So these kids might be 18 when they're supposed to be 16. Oh well. They'll be fine.
...Also, I love ridiculous things people stay in half-awake states. My sister told me that one time she distinctly heard her husband say, in his sleep, "You know, a fork would probably fix that..."

Er, well - no. But it's an excellent name for a cat. He teased me about this for months by doing a falsetto "hellllloooo Tim!". (Sigh. They're SO cute sometimes, you know?)
I talk a *lot* in my sleep, very clearly, to the great amusement of my friends and housemates. But I'm going to have to co-opt your phrase for random-brainness. ;)
