Can haz nu car

Got our car today! As we've been on one car only for about a month, this is good :)

Although to be honest not having a car most of the time didn't really cramp our style all that much. It'd be nice to someday go one car for good. For me, that is. I think the idea makes Chris twitch a little. But really, we live pretty local, have no problem walking or biking most places, and the only reason it's not totally doable long-term is that Chris works too far away for us to be able to drive him once in a while and keep the car for ourselves. Who knows, if he worked closer, we might be able to swing it.

Oh well. For now, two cars is very nice :)

Congrats. What kind did you buy?

A hybrid, Honda Civic. I wonder if I'll have to start paying more attention to my car-related factoids; Chris has a hybrid, and strangers often stop to ask him questions about it (what's your mileage, isn't it inconvenient to have to plug it in all the time, etc). He's always happy to chat, especially if it involves dispelling myths like the plug-in thing.

Wonderful! The Civic's a great car, from the reports I've received from fellow hybrid drivers. I frequently receive that "isn't it hard to plug it in all the time?" question, too.

Awesome. I am hoping that I will be able to manage a new car, hopefully a hybrid, sometime in the next year or so. I want to drive Bert (B's exceptional reddish truck), my 10 year old Tacoma less than I am now. I want to outfit Bert for camping again and use the car to comute and do long distance non-camping kinds of trips.

Yay!

I'm waiting eagerly for the Volt to hit assembly lines; we saw the concept models at the Detroit show and ZOMG, car!gasm. XD Plus, by then my Silverado will probably be pretty unnecessary.
