The emperor's dirty clothes

I love when the kids forget to do one of their chores. Because we don't yell at them any more, or nag them. We just tell them, "You coulda done a little, but now you'll do a lot."

They forgot to put away one basket of clean, folded laundry. Now they'll get to gather up all the dirty laundry and bring it downstair and sort it. If they don't do that with all due haste, they will also get to wash it, dry it, fold it and put it away.

It's worked so well with them, too. The part I love the most is the part where I don't scream at them and end up feeling like the worst mother in the world :(
