Tired.

Choir practice was good, we'll do great at the concert. That might make up for our abysmal performance last Saturday. Memo to myself: next time we're called upon to sing at a mall, develop hives.

Finished putting something together for Leslie's site. Rather draining, that.

Missed L&O, but it's on tape. Tomorrow, maybe.

Chris is on call for the third night this week, and has some bug. As does Justin.

Contemplating dropping out, at least this year. Major surgery + spousal psych residency + spousal brain damage + marital ebbs and flows + mother's cancer + two small children = not enough energy for law degree. Hoping for a meeting with Assistant Dean this week or next.

Going to visit my mom tomorrow.

Going to bed.

Holy shit.

I think they'll save your place for you. Ask for a year, bargain down to a semester if you have to... cripes. I'd think any *one* of those things would be enough to seriously consider taking a break.

And don't worry. We'll keep you intellectually stimulated :).

My Lord. Any one of those things would be enough for me to take a break, I'd say there's nothing wrong with the idea...

No! You need this for yourself. You need it as a distraction, and to keep your mind occupied, and to maintain your faith in your own ability to accomplish things intellectually. Let go of one course if you have to, but don't drop out completely.

And just yesterday you were saying how much you enjoyed it!

Apparently they're not real generous about saving anybody's place. When I was first accepted to the school, I had to decline because Chris had just been in a major accident (my acceptance came three days after his accident, when he was still on the trauma ward). They did not let me defer. They only allowed me to apply again the next year, and graciously waived the application fee.

I can only hope that it's a different story if you're a current student.

And yeah, I'd like to bargain down to a semester, but I can't. Two of my courses are full-year courses. I drop them now and I lose the four months and $3000 I've invested in them so far.

Heh - yeah, except that I lose the two full-year courses I'm enrolled in. Four months and $3000 is a rather large chunk of time & money. I'm not seeing any alternative at this point, though.

Thanks :)

Yeah, I know. The irony of that wasn't lost on me either ;)

I've got an appointment with the Assistant Dean for Monday, so maybe I can work something out... I dunno. We'll see.

Youch! You've got a helluva year ahead....

I hope the AD lets you maybe cut down to one course, go half time or something...I know it's hard in law school because y'know, God forbid anybody do anything different than it was done for the last million years...

We need more people like you in the profession, as opposed to many of the people I was in school with, who are probably screwing people out of money right now...
