Desecrating Stan Rogers
Feb. 11th, 2009 06:54 pmWe're walking to the pool, singing "The Mary Ellen Carter":
Rise again, rise again
Though your heart it be broken
And life about to end
No matter what you've lost
Be it a home, a love, a friend
Like the Mary Ellen Carter
Rise again
It's a weirdly warm day, above freezing, our group was supposed to go to Winterlude but it's closed (Longest Skating Rink in the World is once more the Longest Slushpile). At one point Justin notes that there's an abnormal amount of doggie souvenirs in the snow.
Me: Well, it's because during the winter dog owners just let it sit and get covered with snow. And when the snow melts, there's all the winter's dogdoo, waiting to emerge.
Daniel (singing): Rise again! Rise again!
Though your poo, it be hidden,
And stink about to end--
Happily, he didn't finish the verse ;)
Rise again, rise again
Though your heart it be broken
And life about to end
No matter what you've lost
Be it a home, a love, a friend
Like the Mary Ellen Carter
