So, I'm printing out an out-of-print (at least, locally) Easter book for my kids (yeah, I know, I missed Easter by a bit, whatever). The Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes. Remarkable story, actually, in that I believe it was published in the 40's and yet it's a great anti-sexism, racism and classism morality tale. The heroine is basically a lower-class dark little female... bunny, but hey, we can extrapolate :)

See, our generation didn't invent activism. It just takes a while to catch on.

Here's a floaty thought that really couldn't be expressed anywhere but in lj ::TMI alert:: I love nicely-made bras. They keep you snug and comfortable, without strangling you or leaving you swinging around. For a 38DD, that's very, very valuable. ::end TMI::

Trying to decide whether I want to go to my choir's 20th Anniversary Reunion. I went to my high school reunion, and it was a little blah. It was a lot of fun seeing my old high school, and running into a bunch of my teachers, but none of the people I actually cared about were there and the other people I did run into from my years... eh. Not that I minded running into them, but it wasn't worth the money I paid to go.

It would've been worth the money if I'd been able to go to the Reunion dinner ($45) with my partner and enjoyed ourselves just having a nice time as a couple without a baby. But... the food was good, but the locale was the school cafeteria (ugh) and the 'entertainment' was the old JS band. Which I hated with a passion when I was there, and which hadn't improved at all since I left. And god, it was loud. Loud, blatting, and bad. Wonderful salad - BLATT!!! - Lovely hors d'ouevres - BLATT!!!! - Have some more wine? BLAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!! - What?! - BLATT!!! - I said, HAVE SOME MORE WINE??!!!!

So now there's this choir thing. I didn't much care for the people I sang with even when I was in the choir. Didn't dislike them (mostly), but didn't become close friends with any of them, don't miss any of them.

But there's going to be a reunion concert, which I actually do want to go to because we'll get to sing.

So... do I shell out $70 for the chance to sing? Hm...
