Still feeling totally worried and anxious about the camping situation. Trying to keep busy and not think about it.

So, here's a meme, from [livejournal.com profile] sangerin. Five firsts. One isn't true. Pick which.

1. My partner proposed with a 25c vending machine ring.
2. I once rode a mule down the Grand Canyon and back.
3. I was part of the St. Mary's Cathedral choir for a year.
4. I was pregnant when I got married.
5. I once sailed solo across Lake Ontario.

And now, back to ADR. This time we're supposed to be negotiating a settlement between a factory that makes electronics parts, and a company that sells generators. Thrilling, thrilling stuff.

Later Edit:
  1. Is a requirements contract legally binding?
    • Northen Railway v. Witham
    • Wood v. Lucy, Lady Duff-Gordon
    • May & Butcher v. The King
    • Foley v. Classique Coaches

  2. Does the warranty clause apply to this breach?
    • Hunter Engineering v. Syncrude
    • Fraser Jewellers v. Dominion Electric

  3. What's the effect of the waiver of warranty, if there was one?
    • Gilbert Steel v. University Construction
    • Scott v. Merit Investment

  4. Can Generator prove Applications waived the warranty?
  5. What is the effect of the Arbitration Clause?
    • Greenwood Shopping Plaze v. Beattie
    • London Drugs V. Keuhne & Nagel International

The good news is, we got a new computer!
The bad news is, it's woefully obsolete.
The good news is, it was cheap!
The bad news is, cheap is a relative term.
The good news is, it's much faster than our old one!
The bad news is, faster is also a relative term.
The good news is, it's nifty-looking!
The bad news is, it thinks it's French. Tabarwètte and Sacrement.

The good news is, I'm almost done my ADR assignment #2.
The bad news is, I'm not done yet.
The good news is, we're all done Finders in Property Law.
The bad news is, Finders is a unit seemingly made up exclusively of cases that highlight the innate greed and viscious stupidity of the human race. Whether it's little boys playing with a sock that turns out to be full of money prompting them (or rather, their families) to sue each other for exclusive ownership instead of sharing the loot, or a British Airways passenger who found a gold necklace in an empty boarding lounge and handed it over to British Airways, who appropriated it and sold it for 850 pounds because damn it, it was found on their land, and British Airways obviously needed the money more than the poor honest sod who found it and turned it in, or a guy whose employees found a locked box in a trash heap in his basement and gave it to him, then discovered the box was full of money, and the guy sued (and won) full ownership because the box was on his land... it's all depressing.

The good news is, we're going to call Susan again tonight, and hopefully things will be better, and if not, maybe just giving her somebody to talk to will help in some way.
The bad news is, it probably won't.
