Reading through material on Contracts by Mail, Fax, and E-Mail. It's so nice when you're reading a decision that shows that a judge is living in the real world.

My law-geek soul was tickled last weekend when I read an article in the paper re. the accident in Bowmanville that backed up the 401 for 10km, when we were trying to drive from Toronto to Kingston.

Went to see Brother Bear as a family yesterday. And I'm such a pawn to advertisers, I now have a Brother Bear wallpaper on my screen.

Cute movie. The music was way more saccharine than I'm used to, even for Disney. I was actually cringing at some parts. But overall it was sweet and funny. Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis reprising Bob and Doug McKenzie as moose(s)(meese?) was very cute, especially at the end when they declared that it seemed like a great time for some serious barley and hops ;)

Weird thing, too, being Disneyized. I mean, they've done Africa (Lion King), China (Mulan), the Middle East (Aladdin), Hawaii (Lilo and Stitch)... it was odd seeing Disney Canada.

I'm really glad the boys are old enough for us to do this with them. They're still not quite domesticated (especially Justin) but at least we don't have to worry about them soiling themselves or not being able to concentrate on a 90-minute movie.

We're going into our last week of class before exams, and... feh. I have never been so uninterested in class subject matter in my life. The only remotely interesting things we've studied so far this semester have been Intellectual Property and Native Title. Everything else... yuck.

Speaking of Native Title, I have no idea if this is accurate info, but our Property prof told us that, except for the 1985 Air India bombing case, no other Canadian case has been bigger than the landmark Delgamuukw v. British Columbia case. The trial judge's decision was 1,200 pages (!). The Supreme Court decision was 800. Thank GOD we didn't have to read the entire thing. Apparently, entire wings of courthouses have been built just for the express purpose of adjudicating this monster. One judge worked on nothing but Dalgamuukw for three years.

And then, at the end of all of that, the Supremes came to the momentous conclusion that... it should be sent back for a re-trial.

It boggles the mind.

OK, back to ::yawn:: studying.
