Another busy day.
Woke up early, got breakfast for boys, woke up Chris, went to the Bayshore shopping centre to get my eyes checked and to get the kiddoes in to see Santa. Justin has been talking about nothing but seeing Santa since Wednesday, and he was just about vibrating with anticipation.
Did the whole eye test rigamarole, and ended up with... nothing. Apparently, my eyes have
improved in the last ten years, and I no longer need glasses. I didn't even know that was possible.
I rushed downstairs, hoping I hadn't missed the Santa experience, and found the boys sitting on Santa's lap with Chris taking pictures. I swear Justin was about ready to go into orbit, and Daniel was pretty thrilled too. And what thrilled Justin the most was that this
had to be the real Santa, because he had a real beard and white hair.
The mall people were really cool, too, not all commercialized trying to hawk $50 5x7 grainy snapshots. They were totally fine with us taking our own pictures, and we ended up getting one of theirs just because they were so laid-back and friendly. Good marketing strategy, I guess ;)
Want to see?
Daniel, Justin, and Santa.
Finished a lot of our Christmas shopping, then went to buy fish for tomorrow's sushi party.
BTW, I found out yesterday that Chris was trying to organize a surprise birthday party for me. I say trying, because it wasn't going very well - most of my friends are out of Ottawa for the Christmas holidays. And he gave up when he found out that I thought I was going to be singing with my choir at the exact time that he'd planned the party.
Still... that was so sweet. I can't believe he was trying to organize a surprise party for me. Even though it didn't work out... I'm smiling every time I think of it. Nobody's ever done that for me.
