::emerges gasping for air::

Two down: International Environmental Law (8:30-10:00) and Civil Liberties (10:00-1:00).

Two to go: Alternative Dispute Resolution (1:00-4:00) and Drafting (4:00-7:00).

::deep breath, plunges back down again::

Dammit, people, it's JIM!! Simple. Easy. Anglo pronunciation. You do it automatically for millions of men named James, which doesn't even sound like it should devolve into Jim at all. Why the hell not do it for one woman named Jimena?

But no. Let's be culturally sensitive. Let's be multicultural and celebrate that one woman's heritage, and mangle her name beyond recognition whether she wants us to or not. Never mind that her cultural heritage mostly involves growing up in Nepean, Ontario.

Arg.

Back to class.

I'm all burbly!!

And wiped, having been in class from 8:30am to 6:40pm. But I'm excited about my classes, happy to have made some pretty big decisions that I hope will work out, and all jazzed about the day. Minus the minor irritation of once again being in a class where it seems a professor will go all out to ensure that everybody calls me exactly what I don't want to be called :(

Days like this I wish I'd listened to my father when he said I should keep using my first name, Claudia, because it's a well-known name in English, Spanish and French.

Then I remember that being called Claudia gives me hives.

::shrug::

Going home now!
