Final camping trip of the season. And I've got almost nothing packed. Not stressed at all, why?
Spent most of yesterday frantically trying to have all my readings done for Monday, as I won't be able to read over the weekend. I'm nowhere near done, but at least I made a dent in the pile o paper.
Justin goes to JK on Monday. He's only been at the school day care until now, because they ease JK kids in - they don't just dump them all in at the same time on the first day of school. So Justin has already met his teacher and spent one morning in her classroom with a small group of his future classmates, and he's totally thrilled. Every time he walks past his teacher's classroom on the way to the day care, he pops his head in and yells, "HELLO Mrs. BREEZE!!" Today he also ran in and gave her a big hug.
Oh, and did I mention how thrilled he was to go into the Big Boy Bus with Daniel, the morning he went to JK? He's been aching to do that for two years.
Daniel's also having a pretty good time in grade 2. Likes his teacher, likes his classroom, and got a 10/10 in his dictee yesterday.
Outside of school, Daniel's reading continues to improve dramatically as he devours page after page of information about D&D. And yesterday, he got it into his head that he needed some paper to do "a secret thing." This was intriguing, because neither one of our kids is that fond of writing or art.
( This is what Daniel made )Some day, I hope to hear him say, "Hey. I didn't spend all those years playing D&D and not learn a little bit about spelling." (and if you can name that almost-quote... hee :)
Anyway. Will update more after camping. So long, everybody, and have a good weekend!
