Now, actually, I find this a little embarrassing, because nobody should be this defined by their nationality.

There's fireworks going off. Did I miss a day?

Also: went to pick up Daniel from a friend's house, and saw two flags flying on his neighbour's house: a Canadian flag and another one that looked roughly like this:

I know I'm misremembering background colours here, because I only caught a glimpse of it, but basically it's a Union Jack with a Maple Leaf in a circle and blue bits somewhere in there.

I feel rather clued out here and worry that I'm about to betray my right-off-the-boat furrign-ness, but I've never seen a flag like this. Does anyone know what it is?

And: Justin's JK teacher made a PowerPoint slide show of their year in pictures and put it on DVDs. We watched it and I am the world's biggest sap ever, because I nearly teared up. And part of what teared me up was while the slides went from Halloween to circle time to Chinese New Year to ice skating to snack time to the Van Gogh Sunflowers art display and on to the end, the song in the background was Rod Stewart's Forever Young.

And I don't even like Rod Stewart. But. ::sniffle::
