(no subject)

We're listening to the Les Miserables soundtrack, "Turning Through the Years", a song sung by the women friends of the students who have just died.

Justin: They sound just like the prosecutors.
Me: The who?
Justin: The prosecutors. From the other song sung by the ladies.
Me: ::mentally scanning through the soundtrack for songs sung by women only:: Oh! You mean from Lovely Ladies? The prostitutes?
Justin: Yeah! The prostitutes.

::sigh::

OK, how sad do you have to be to think to yourself "What would Jesus do at a military funeral?" and come up with this?

Quick summary: they felt religiously commanded to march around waving signs saying, "Thank God for dead soldiers," "God hates fags," "God hates fag enablers," "God is your enemy," and singing "God Hates America" to the tune of "God Bless America."

Yeah, I can totally see the guy who said "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye shall love one another as I have loved you... by this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another," clearly meant "and please, fellas, show your love by telling a family who is burying their son that God hates them and their country."

Okay...

Otherwise, an interesting day.

• paper pretty much due tomorrow, and have yet to do all my footnotes
  
• may be called by the police re. a friend's spouse who is kinda losing it
  
• went to choir and I'm not sure but I think we may have, for the first time in four years, moved our director to tears - happy tears, that is; the sopranos in particular have probably been responsible for a few of the other variety more than once
  
• oh yeah some rather glum-looking kids dressed all funny came to our door holding out bags and expecting free food for some reason
  
• there's cobwebs on our door
  
• would like to have my paper done now, kthxby
