My children are not my children.
Jan. 26th, 2008 12:33 amThey are the sons of Life's longing for itself.
They come through me but not from me,
And though they are with me yet they belong not to me.
Went skiing with the boys again today. Last time, Justin started the day unable to stand up in his skis. Today, we started at the Beginner hill, skied for about two hours before going in for lunch, eased our way onto the Intermediate hill, went in after a couple more hours to get some hot chocolate, and ended the day on an (inaccurately labelled) Expert hill. And that last? Was at Justin's suggestion. Granted, Chris had just gone down it and said it wasn't really an Expert hill, just an Intermediate with slightly steeper inclines, but. Justin's suggestion also happened right after a run where he'd fallen and hurt himself quite a bit.
I spent about five years on the Beginner hill, as a child, terrified to go any farther because What If I OMG Fell.
::shaking head in wonder:: Not my child at all.
Oh and kudos to anybody who recognizes the pseudo-quote ;)
