E-Man as Ventriloquist
Apr. 22nd, 2009 09:03 pmOK, so, I've got a Facebook account but hardly ever go over there, because lj's still my e-home. But since my lj entries automatically go on FB, every so often I get a Friending thingy from someone on FB. Which is cool.
Every so often I go over there, to check out what's up. Like today: I go over, find a few people I'd lost touch with, read their Profiles, and suddenly wonder what's on my own FB profile. I made it a while ago, so who knows if it's current.
I go over and check.
It's current. Sort of. But under "education and jobs" it says I home school... for Merrill Lynch.
Merrill Lynch??!!!
I have no idea how this got on my Profile. I have no relationship whatsoever with Merrill Lynch. Am embarrassed to say I had to look them up to figure out what, exactly, it is they do, other than play with lots of money. What I know about Merrill Lynch could be painlessly tattooed onto my eyelids.
The hell?!
I erased it, but now can't decide whether this is more or less disturbing than when I found out that my music-sharing space had (unbeknownst to me) provided me with a peppy, cutesey little intro blurb telling all my friends I'd "try to keep my music place interesting" (um... yeah, no intention on doing that) and bubbleishly urging them to come "visit me again and again!" (um... whatever, dude, it's just a place I keep music I find moderately interesting... visit or don't, knock yourself out)...
Like I don't get myself into enough trouble with things I actually say or do. Now I've got The E-Man putting words in my mouth.
