Overheard that at CanGames a few years ago - you hear the most interesting snippets of conversation/gaming walking through the place - but they could've been talking about Chris, this year :)

CanGames was a huge success all around. Justin had an awesome time in the kids' games yesterday, and won an award for best roleplaying, being annoying and obnoxious and grumpy but deep down a good guy. Just right for Squidward, from SpongeBob Squarepants, his character. Daniel did his first full CanGames, playing with the grown-ups (and successfully pretending to be one) and impressing the heck out of his fellow players, and winning awards too. Chris had a blast, also won lots of stuff. They all came home with much gaming/sci-fi booty. And I got lots of time to myself.

Well done, CanGames 2010!

He just saved the boys' history projects. The history projects they've been working on for weeks. The history projects that will be part of the Home Schooling History Fair this Wednesday. The history projects that were almost entirely stored on the hard drive of my decrepit, coal-powered old Dell. The old Dell that decided, this morning, to not even deign to grace me with the Blue Screen of Death, and instead sat there saucily winking a single bright line in the top left hand corner of a totally black screen.

Yes, I majored in computers. Yes, I sat there helplessly, not even knowing enough to reboot while holding down F12 so I'd get a choice of where to boot from, and bypass the disk drive that recently ate a Sting's Brand New Day CD and decided to suffer a Brand New bout of indigestion. See, my computing science major was earned 17 years ago. And also?

How many computing science majors does it take to change a light bulb?
None. That's a hardware issue.

Anyway. Chris is a God.

Huh.

Drove past a pair of teenage boys (maybe 14-16?), chatting and walking down the western suburbian part of Carling Ave, unremarkable in every way, except they were holding hands.

That takes some cojones, gentlemen. Good for you.
