Said to us by a guy with purple hair and a whole bunch of face piercings in downtown Toronto. He's ever so right - there's a ginormous number of policey-type-people, streets blocked off everywhere, the city's gearing itself up for the G20 summit, and here we are, touristing around.
It wasn't our idea, trust me. It wasn't Chris' sister's idea either, back when she and her fiance decided to have their wedding this weekend (see Globe & Mail article How the G20 crashed our wedding). I must admit, though, headache that it must be for them, it's... kinda cool, for us. In a sort of a geeky-political sort of way. And hey, one of the things we most wanted to do - see the ROM - was doable and awesome. We stayed till closing. (I love going to museums with our kids.) So it's all good.
And then we went looking for wedding-appropriate clothing for the boys, wandered around looking lost for a while, eventually ended up getting help from a weird guy with piercings who had just started talking to us 'cause of the construction/enhanced security all around us, and got all our shopping done and went home.
Feet sore, very tired, very happy :) :) :)
