Hand over that Mother of the Year award. Long, stressful day, culminating in a trip to Staples to pick up $180 worth of school supplies? Not conducive to patient parenting.
Also, I have now broken four pairs of shoes in the last month. Think I'm going to have to buckle down and get some new shoes. No, I will not remove the unintentional pun. It's been one of those days when you need all the laughs you can get.
I will say, though, that being in video remand court today was... not amusing, exactly, but certainly memorable. Particularly when the guard announced a name like "Mohammed Faisal" and an excited rustle ran through the court, and a whoole lot of pens and pencils became suddenly poised over notepads and sketchbooks... only to subside with an almost audible "aw, nuts!" when some random black guy appeared on the screen, instead of one of the three Arab-Canadian terror suspects arrested last week. And the funniest part of it was that none of the actual suspects was even named Mohammed.
No, I'm not trying to make light of terrorism, or the seriousness of this case. Just grabbing a little humour where I can ;)
