Saw the Matrix Reloaded. Not as good as the original, but then, I wasn't expecting it to be. Chris really, really liked it, which was good since it was supposed to be his birthday present :)

Bloody expensive though. $25 for the tickets, $7 for popcorn, $25 babysitting. Phew. $57. Wait a few more months and we'll be renting it for a week for $4.

We'll still go and do it all again when the next one comes out though :) :)

Probably going to actually start putting Promises up on ff.n. God help me, I think I may actually finish this darn thing some day.

The problem with doing "patchwork quilt" writing as opposed to "Dr. Who scarf" writing is that you really can't tell how close you are to being done. Other people can say "I'm about halfway through", in terms of where they want the story to go, but I write bits here and there, and eventually patch them together into something resembling coherence, and once everything is sort of patched together I 'finish' it - ie go over each chapter with a fine-tooth comb, hopefully get it beta'd, and then start posting. But it's always so hard to tell whether the blank spaces will get patched over coherently or not. Like, does this need two paragraphs to get from this finished section to that finished section, or will it require another chapter? Hard to tell.

So I've got Promises pretty much written, I think, with blank spots here and there. Chapter 1 has been written, beta'd (thanks again Kyl!), and post-beta'd. Chapter 2 is sitting there, (I think) ready to be beta'd. Chapter 3 is written, needs to be made ready to beta. The last chapter is written, and it's more like an epilogue than anything. In between... sigh. I think it's just about ready to go, but then I look at it and despair.

I'm pretty sure it's safe to post though. My fear has been posting something and then leaving it as a WIP, since I really hate when other people do that and I haven't done it yet. And I'm sure that won't happen with this one, but don't want to finish because "I started it, so I have to finish it, god dammit, even if it SUCKS." I want it finished properly.

And then there's lots of other little things burbling in the background, poking at me every so often, saying, "HEY! Remember US?!!"
