arg, screw it
Apr. 4th, 2003 09:27 pm... so I'm trying to work up the enthusiasm to actually stab at my current fic, when I see yet another 'previously clipped by A&E but resurfacing on Bravo! snippet' from an L&O ep that... I dunno... kind of might change how I approach what I was writing. If I chose to not ignore it.
Feh. Screw it. Thinking of throwing in the towel on this particular fic anyway. And on ficwriting in general, at least for the forseeable future.
Got an e-mail from one of Leslie's friends about how they met. Damn, is all I can say. If it didn't end so dismally, it would be an amazing story to publish somewhere. As it is, the "and after all that, she died in a stupid pointless traffic accident" makes it the kind of thing that Reader's Digest would lap up in a second, if only to tack on some kind of drivelly 'inspirational moral of the story' at the end.
How bitter am I. And how bitter must Bob be. I have to reply, but have no clue what to say other than, Dude, that sucks. That really, really, really sucks.
In more chipper news, the kibbles and bits seemed to have had a wonderful time, and my house is still standing. It may have been because they're nice kids; it may have been because I fed them pizza and watermelon; it may have been because I spiked both with vodka.
