!!

My mom's lawyer just called to say that he's coming over in 20 minutes, I need to endorse a couple of cheques, and by tomorrow, I should be done all the inheritance stuff. Whoa.

What a full weekend. Quick summary: [livejournal.com profile] lonejaguar and [livejournal.com profile] heathers showed up Friday, went to Bluesfest Saturday and downtown/National Art Gallery Sunday; Chris was on call Saturday and out of the hospital Sunday noonish; the painters did my kitchen, dining room, and stairs to the basement on Saturday. And in amongst all of that were two yummy meals downtown, one at the art gallery and the other at a Mexican restaurant (special treat from [livejournal.com profile] lonejaguar and [livejournal.com profile] heathers) some freaking out at the kids (Mommy tantrums are not pretty - I think I should have taken a page from Sarah's book and given myself a Mommy time-out), repeated incursions into our home from the 2-year old next door, and fic-posting. As well as the total breakdown of Chris' car, the discovery of many small objects previously thought lost, a spirited pro- and anti-Bush discussion between two of our painters, and a truly, truly horrifying ginormous baby head.

Good weekend, though. [livejournal.com profile] lonejaguar and [livejournal.com profile] heathers are wonderful houseguests :)

Is that some fanfic code I'm just not hip enough to know?

Oh, how I wish. It was a piece of modern 'art' at the National Gallery. I'm actually convinced that the head itself is not the real piece of art; the real art will be a montage film of reactions of museum-goers upon seeing the huge head. Various tones of alarm, disbelief, disgust, extreme unsettlement, vacant dismay... there was quite a cornucopeia of facial expressions going on, believe me.

Really, really weird.
