Back from camping. Ohsodirty. Fun, though. Although this morning I wanted to lead both of my children into the woods and leave them there, a la Hansel and Gretel.

Still having rolling blackouts in Ottawa. Not so much though.

Chris has a migraine. And will be on call tomorrow, Monday, and Friday. What joy. Next week is also filled with various doctor's appointments for the whole family. Shrinks, ENTs, gynes, blah blah blah. Thank god for socialized health care.

Can I say thank god for LadyStarblade over on ff.n's L&O site? I was really starting to think there was nobody new who could put together a coherent story worth a damn, and she's written three decent ones so far. Not that I don't love seeing stories by writers I already know, but it's a little discouraging to keep opening up fics by one new author after another and finishing each one with a discouraged, "Well, that's five minutes of my life I'll never get back."

Somehow, and I have no idea how, I deleted senza's following comment:

The deterioration of ff.n's L&O section was beginning to scare me very much. I dropped off reading and writing for a few months, leaving what was a pretty tolerable little corner of ff.n, and came back to scary things.

So, yes. It is good to see new people who can write. I really liked Lady Starblade's Shambala piece.

Oh, no, it's okay. I'm sorry. I got rid of it. After I'd written it, I thought it was perhaps slightly nasty. I need to learn when to keep the cyberspace equivalent of my mouth shut. ;)
