no rhyme or reason
Aug. 24th, 2003 08:33 amBusy last few days. Some random occurrences and thoughts:
Went to the ENT for Daniel on Wednesday (and he was in! How exciting, after being stood up by two doctors in two days!) and Daniel is going to have adenoid surgery. Probably in about 8-9 months. Poor guy. His nose just refuses to stop running no matter how many antibiotics we give him.

Still slowly exsanguinating. Damn. And now I'm on some kind of hormone thing to stop it. I've been told this may result in mood swings. How lovely. And I wonder... how would I know? My mood is all over the damn place these days anyway.
Anyway. Gyne next week, thank god.

Chris, over my objections, read the whole flinchfic I linked to a few days ago. He kept reading particularly painful passages out loud - I guess he hates me or something. Then I noticed that he was starting to point out things like, "'They're' spelled 'T-H-E-I-R'" or "run on sentence" and I commented, "I see you're focussing on the minutiae. Your brain's sort of skittering away from the gestalt of it, isn't it?"
"YES. That's it. That's EXACTLY it. 'Skittering away from the gestalt of it.'"

Justin and I made zuchinni chocolate cake yesterday. I know, it sounds completely gross. But Daniel declared it the best cake he's ever had, and Chris said he pretty much agreed. Amazing cake. Justin was so proud of himself, too :)
lonejaguar, do you know when
heathers decided she wanted to study food as a career? Because Justin's only 3, but he's so incredibly food-centred I really can't see him ever choosing to do anything else. Like some kids who know they're going to be doctors in Kindergarten. I really can't imagine an adult Justin in anything other than chef's whites.

I'm working on another set of character questions, from Cassatt this time, and I've sent her questions of her own. I love these writing exercises. I'm such a geek.

Date: 2003-08-24 09:34 pm (UTC)Well done on convincing Cassatt to get an LJ! As a result I'm going on a L&O "friend"-ing drive and adding you, though I've been intending to do so for ages.

Date: 2003-08-25 04:14 am (UTC)For some bizarre reason I wasn't aware you had an lj, even though I occasionally read TC's friends' page. I'm a ditz. In any case, I've now "friended" you too :) :)
