We published it in our school newspaper when I was working at Bath Penitentiary, and the reactions were... interesting. We had a huge black population (surprise! black drug dealers & bank robbers serve hard time; white child molesters get probation) and they received the piece with a lot of introspection and some really good discussions. Not to say that they agreed with all of it or were magically changed, but it was definitely food for thought, for all of us.
It would've been nice if more of the white guys could've seen the piece as relevant to them too.
