PSA Content Strike This Friday March 21
Mar. 18th, 2008 11:39 pmEverybody and their literate dog has probably already seen this, but what the heck, I may as well share :)
ONE DAY CONTENT STRIKE
For one day, Friday, March 21, make no posts. Make no comments. Let there be NO new content added to LJ.
SUP obviously does not realize that Basic users have given something of value to them, that it is content that drives the site.
So, for one 24-hour period, from midnight GMT to midnight GMT, let's see how many people we can get to pledge to contribute NO CONTENT.
This will create a permanent downward spike in the daily-posts statistics, a permanent reminder of the power of the userbase.
Full information at The Fox's Den.
SPREAD THE WORD!
(So for me and the rest of LJ in the Eastern Time Zone - Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Washington, etc - that's 8 p.m. Thursday to 8 p.m. Friday.)
Now, to be honest I'm not entirely sure how much effect this will have, but hey. These folks hid stats on faeries, depression, pain, bisexuality and fanfiction (they're back now, BTW). And zapped the whole no-ads thingy that we all loved so much. If shutting up for one day can make them at least frown at their screens and think w... t... f...? for a minute, I'm all for it :)
