Dancing with the stars
Apr. 21st, 2008 11:34 pmI had music on today, and was kind of dancing around in the living room, when Justin ran over and started dancing with me. It was kind of soft music (possibly ABBA, don't hold it against me), and we were dancing for a while, and it was one of those "I've done something right" experiences, because he was so happy to be moving to music with his mom - and then I suddenly realized that I was dancing with him, like, real dancing. Not picking him up and twirling him around, or bopping around and passing him to Chris when he got too heavy; dancing with him, with his feet on the ground, because he's too heavy to pick up and he's so tall I can rest my chin on the top of his head.
::sniffle::
My baby.
I guess it struck me because for the last week or so my desktop picture has been an old pic we took of Justin when he was less than a year old, way back in London. So I've got this vivid image of him as a baby, and OMG time flies by.

Justin Then
Actually, this picture makes me a bit sad because his lovely clear blue eyes, that look so wide and trusting and joyful... weren't seeing a hell of a lot. He was three before we realized he was blind as a bat.

Justin Now
This is not a scowl, BTW; this is a squint. The son was happy, but the sun was rather bright ;) (BA-dum-BUM).

Yeah, I think so. Possibly just turned 3. And commonly known as "Stitch" in our home. Which in retrospect is funny, but at the time drove us batshit insane on a regular basis.
