You were right!!

::happy reading sigh::

Have been doing a lot of reading lately, now that I think of it. Some re-reads, and lots of new stuff. Roots? Brilliant. Though I'm past the halfway mark and we're still on Kunta Kinte. There's, like, six more generations, IIRC from the miniseries. The God Delusion is redefining ambivalence for me. And the Domesday Book and Memory and Dream are a little sadder the second time around.

Are you on The Golden Compass (or North), or have you gotten to the second book yet? I love that trilogy. Did you, or are you going to, see the movie?

I'm reading this too! I'm on the second book and I'm liking it, but not as much as Northern Lights. I'm wary about seeing the movie, because I've heard it wasn't true to the book, but I'm open if any of you say it's good.

Just now finishing Golden Compass. I plan on seeing the movie, even though I heard it was a bit of a disappointment. Did you see it?

I'm still on the first. Getting near the end, though. And I've got the next one waiting for me on my bookshelf :)

Yeah, I heard it was a bit of a disappointment. I'm still going to see it, though. I'll let you know :)

Yes, I saw the movie--it wasn't that bad, although, as usual from book to movie, some things were changed. Also, those not familiar with the book trilogy probably asked :What was all this? (The guy I saw it with did--he doesn't read at all. I tried to explain things, but he just shrugged).

I do hope they make the other two books into movies, though nothing will really do that trilogy justice.

You ARE going to read the other two, aren't you?
