Actually I learned about all of this! While I was teaching the boys, that is. I'm embarrassed to admit that I, a History major, knew next to nothing about the difference between the Ottoman and Chesterfield Muslim Empires. It took The Story of the World, meant for children aged 7-12 or so, for me to learn it. That, and the boys asking all sorts of questions I didn't know the answers to :)
Ah well.
It's a very ancient saying, But a true and honest thought, That if you become a teacher, By your pupils you'll be taught.
