Time flies...

- Asterix turned fifty this week. I learned to read with Asterix. I still remember the thrill of realizing that all of a sudden the letters I used to laboriously string together had become words.
Daniel just finished reading the first branch of the Mabinogion, Evangeline Walton version. - TMI alert: Justin is very interested in what happens when you pop a zit. Ew. He's only nine; I didn't think we'd have to deal with this for a few more years, but kids who are heavier than the norm reach puberty earlier than the norm. Oh goody.
- "Oh no!" says Daniel, sounded very distressed. He has just realized that one of the packages of Halloween treats we bought is from Nestle. Nestle uses child labour. He learned about it in Social Activism Class. We have agreed to take back the Nestle box and buy a more ethical box.
- Wasn't it just last year that our priority when buying Halloween candy was "Don't buy stuff that might be a choking hazard for the baby"?
