In memory of family and friends who have lost the battle with cancer; and in support of the ones who continue to conquer it! Post this on your LJ if you know someone who has or had cancer. 93% won't copy and paste this. Will you?

I am not sure how on earth they came up with the 93%...

Anyway, this is in memory of my mother Julia, her widower Guy, and her two sisters Mary and Dory. Mary and Dory survived their battles; my mother and Guy did not. I believe my grandfather died of cancer too, but I was very small at the time so I'm not entirely sure.

I am lucky enough to say that (to my knowledge) I have never known anyone with cancer. I feel like the only person on earth.

Yeah, that's pretty rare... though I must admit that until my mom got it, it hadn't seemed that close to me, because both of my aunts had (a) survived it and (b) lived very, very far away from me when they had it. So I never really got to see it up close, until my mom.

Not being personally touched by cancer is a very good thing. Cancer really really really sucks.
