  • Apparently, as far as Daniel knows, his entire Scouts troop (which is unfortunately only about eight kids) is atheist. B'zuh?

  • Chris:: What's her name, the unattractive actress from Kill Bill, the blonde one-
    Me: Uma Thurman?
    Chris: That's the one!
Me: You think she's not attractive?
    Chris: No.
Me: Oh. Weird. I think she's very pretty.
Chris: Yeah, no. I mean, she's not ugly at all, but she's not what I'd call attractive. Especially for an actress.
Me: Not on your List, then?
Chris: No. Although, if you were to bring her home, I'd be right there. Wouldn't kick her out of our bed.
Me: ::cracking up:: You'd make the effort?
Chris: ::long-suffering:: Only for you, hon. Only for you.
    Kids: ::totally don't get it::

  • Minnesota lawmaker's gay marriage defense goes viral. Well said, sir.

  • Am getting a little nervous about the black belt test, even though it's not until November. Not worried about the 3.2 k run, or the 250 sit-ups in ten minutes or the skipping. It's the 250 push-ups that are going to kill me. Right now, if I don't mind feeling like I've stepped on my own biceps the next day, I can do 150 in six with only the last 15 of them ladies' push-ups. The thought of adding on 100 more? Eeeeee :(

  • Weird to still be able to sing along all the way to the end of American Pie. Wonder if the writer will ever reveal what the heck it's about, or if he's really telling the truth when he says he has truly forgotten what he was talking about for almost the whole song.

  • A clear majority of Canadians voted for change

Excerpt: 9 million voters cast their ballots for parties that share much in common. 9 million voted to strengthen our democracy, protect our environment and increase our equality.

Yet, because these parties split the vote in riding after riding, Prime Minister Harper has gained near total control of our government with the support of less than 6 million voters. The only thing that can check his power is the shared voices of Canadians like you.

  • "Flowers! Is there a John Luck Pickurd here?"

    "You seem unimpaled so far."

"That's such a touching story. Gets you right... here."

"Well, let's see... You've managed to get slapped by one woman, a drink thrown in your face by another and alienate your two best friends. Doing pretty well so far."

It is so weird, almost twenty years later, watching this stuff with my kids.

::glancing up:: Yeah, I think that's sufficiently random.
