It's kind of weird. I've never not done anything for New Year's before. But this year... I'm just geeking away, and will most probably not notice when the year actually ends.

I don't do resolutions, but here's some thanks and wishes:

I'm thankful that...

  • Chris and I are much, much better off now than we were at the beginning of the year. Things may still be rocky, but at least we've improved.
  • The kids are doing OK; Daniel loves school, and Justin is growing into a much nicer little person.
  • I didn't bleed to death in September.
  • I'm halfway through Boring Law Year.
  • Chris is almost half done his residency.
  • I'm not depressed. Chronically, that is.

I hope that...

  • Things will continue to improve in our marriage
  • We get through the next term OK even though I won't be able to spend as much time with the kids
  • My hysterectomy goes OK.
  • My mom gets better soon.
  • Todd gets better soon.
  • We get to spend more time together as a family and with friends.
  • We go camping at least three times.

You are not alone

I am 'geeking it' too on New Year's Eve. But sadly ::sighs:: it's not the first time. I resolve to have a date next year if I have to go out and wrestle one to the ground and hog-tie him!

Crossing my fingers (and my eyes and my toes) that all your hopes and wishes for 2004 come to fruition.

WOOAAH!!! I was just going to add my thoughts about I resolve to have a date next year if I have to go out and wrestle one to the ground and hog-tie him! when I read it in the first comment, and then, BAM!, there it was in yours!!

When I saw the phrase "hog-tie him" all I could think about was the section of the rodeo where college students try to "catch" a young pig-ling!! HAH! ::hysterically laughs!!::

Happy 2004!!

Been super busy with the puppy and only visited your site today for the first time in a week. Happy New Years!

About the drawing - there are two really good books to help you. One is "Drawing with Children" by Mona Brooks and the other is "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by some other chick. I'd go for the first one for your oval and square impared kiddos.

Best of luck. Sandra's been drawing mermaids this week. Tias occasionally picks up a marker to draw zigzags and other random, energetic squiggles.
