Civics 101
Feb. 6th, 2004 11:45 amSecond Legislation class today. So glad I'm taking it, even though the lecture today was rather excruciating. We got a two-hour expose of How a Bill Becomes a Law from two Parliament Hill insiders. I didn't even like learning this stuff when I was in seventh grade and all it consisted of was "Bill introduced, First Reading, Second Reading, Third Reading, to the Senate, Royal Assent."
However. At least being interested in the general topic made the dryness a little more bearable. And the two presenters, while hardly dynamic, were at least very thorough and competent public speakers, with a good PowerPoint presentation to accompany themselves with. And apparently very much into their jobs.
They went back and forth for two hours and ended with, "And that's our jobs." And they clicked onto a slide that showed both of them in their Parliamentary robes, right below the Speaker's big chair, looking at the camera, while above them the Speaker leaned her head on her hand and looked dismally bored. That was pretty cute ;)
In other news,

Yes, she's back, and she's bad. After (approx) three weeks, I was finally starting to get used to the concept of 'no period'. I had decided I liked it. Especially after bleeding or spotting almost continuously from about September to early January, with (maybe) 5 days off the whole time. So yesterday, who should come by? Auntie Ho. And she's brought luggage, so she's staying for a while.
20 days till I go in. I can't say I'm looking forward to the hysterectomy, but I'm definitely starting to warm up to it.
Later Edit: From
danglypartsiple, somebody found this gem:
The tub was in the middle of the black granite floor, round shaped, and built sank. It was already full of bubbles and devouring a sweet scent onto the air.

My 'cousin' came to visit yesterday, too. I'll be glad when the bitch leaves.
