Assistant Dean rules!

Went to see the A. Dean. Told him what's going on, and he suggested this:

1. keep attending class and doing readings and finding time to see my mom
   
2. go have surgery
   
3. try to keep up with other people's notes and/or recordings
   
4. come see him when I'm back
   
5. if I feel OK, keep going until exams
   
6. if I don't feel I can do the exams at the set time, we'll rebook any/all of them
   
7. if I write them and then think I bombed, I can defer whatever class(es) I bombed
   
8. that way I can pass into second year, not have to repay tuition for those courses, and take the exams again next year after auditing whatever parts of the course I missed this time

I didn't even know it was possible to defer marks for a year. Wow. I'm so glad I went to see him.

I'm *so* glad the administration is going to be reasonable about this.

:) :) Me too. Chris keeps saying, "I told you so" because he'd said they would be. He figured it was in their interest to keep me instead of turfing me out for silly reasons.

So yeah, OK, he was right. He told me so ;)
