You know that "show your entry from this time last year" meme? Never did it. Because I wasn't here a year ago, so my entry would be:

Besides, as I recall I went on lj a couple of weeks after Leslie Rampey's death, so I think my entries would probably be a bit of a bummer-fest. It's hard to believe it's been almost a year. Seems both longer and shorter than that. Does that make any sense?

::going to look:: Well, cheating a little, here's what my lj said almost a year ago, my first two entries.

30th March, 2003. 7:48 am. It can't be this simple...

Entry #1

Current mood: skeptical.
Current music: Hercules soundtrack.

30th March, 2003. 7:50 am. I guess it is.

Entry #2

Current mood: amused.
Current music: Still, Hercules movie soundtrack.

OK day. Chris slept in, boys watched TVOKids, I made Pillsbury croissants - which, BTW, only look like croissants - then we went to Toys R Us and Cora's for lunch. Yuummmy. It really is worth the wait in line.

Then Daniel and I watched STTNG "A Matter of Honor" (the one where Riker goes on an officer exchange onto a Klingon ship) while Chris and Justin slept. Talked about cultural misunderstandings, and cultural exchanges, and a whole lot of stuff. Who'd thought that one day I'd be discussing sociology with my seven-year old while watching Star Trek? My father would have a heart attack.

Was reminded of a few other things Ottawa has going for it: the countless bike trails through the city, the Experimental Farm (yes, a farm in the middle of the city, with gardens and an arboretum), the National Art Gallery, and the Natural History Museum. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] daf9 :) Considering how long we spent on those bike trails and at the Experimental Farm Museum of Agriculture last summer, I can't believe I didn't mention them.

This is kind of a cute meme, although I'm not sure what it means. I think it's a list of lj users who are not on my Friends list, but are on my friends' Friends lists.

Ok, here is your ranked list of trusted non-friends
(see http://cuddlepuddle.org/~adam/trustmetric )

Who are your most trusted non-friends?

Leslie Rampey

It hasn't been that long ago that I kind of got burned out on Star trek Voyager fan fiction both reading it and wriing it and moved on to law and order. Being a Lennie fan I found Leslie's stories wonderful and tried to find more, can you imagine my shock when in searching the web I found her obituary? Even more shocking was to learn that another author of great Lennie stories Lori kem was also deceased though much longer ago. Any way in tribute to those two ladies who wrote such wonderful stories about Lennie I thought I'd repost the urls here.
