brain-wind-down
Mar. 25th, 2004 09:28 pmJustin was talking about how much money was in his piggy bank, because he never spends it.
Daniel: Why don't you spend it?
Justin: Because I want to save it until I'm all grown up.
Daniel: What will you spend it on?
Justin: For when I'm married!
Daniel: But what will you buy with it?
Justin: Food, and clothing and shelter, for mine family! Because I'm going to have a really, really big house.
Daniel: Me too!
... and there followed a very cute and involved discussion of where they would live when they were adults. Including Daniel pointing out that they might both live in apartments, and Justin figuring out the layout of his apartment.
God, it wasn't so long ago that neither one of them had bladder control. And they're already talking about their housing options upon reaching adulthood. ::sniff::

Went to the course fair. It's nice to be looking at courses for next year and feel like I can't decide how to winnow down my choices to only 10, instead of trying to decide which 10 sound the least deadly boring.
At the end, they handed out this year's Prof Awards. To nobody's surprise, my Contracts prof won one prize and my Constitutional prof from last year won another. Contracts lady is the one who said, "... and the reason these are my favourite cases is that they're pirate cases! Yo Ho Ho!... I mean, who wouldn't like a doctrine of law that arises out of piracy?" and "Yeah, you generally can't write 'Ground 1 for Appeal: they changed their mind, I got screwed.'" And my Constitutional prof is the one who ended the year by telling our class that he had enjoyed teaching us because we were "not just conscious, but sentient."

Spent the morning at my mom's. I actually felt useful there for once, because she needed me to sort some things out with her ISP, and I did. Yay usefulness.
Unfortunately it feels like that's about my only usefulness to her right now. She's still hugely nauseated, and the doctors don't know how to help her. They keep trying all sorts of things and nothing works. In the meantime, she's miserable and can't keep anything down, and now weighs less than I do. She's four inches taller than me; this is not good.

Going to Kingston this weekend. Probably won't be around much, e-wise. So if you e-mail me and I don't answer, I'm not ignoring you ;)

I should do my Legislation readings. But you know what? I just don't want to. Maybe I'll finish watching last night's Law & Order, so I can squee when Ed says, "Everything old is new again" ;)
