Finally done all of my Legislation readings. For the year.
Tomorrow I hope to finish off Property for the year, then Contracts on Thursday. We'll see how far I get with this though - Chris is on call tonight and tomorrow, and I'll be at my mom's for most of the day tomorrow before class anyway. So any reading will have to be done after the kids are in bed.
Took the boys grocery shopping. As I was waiting for the checkout lady to finish checking my items, she glanced over at where Justin was roaring around the patio furniture display and said, "Lots of energy this time of night, eh?"
"Yeah, he's like this all day, though."
"His sister seems pretty quiet." I looked over and there was Daniel, engrossed in some detail of the plastic furniture, ignoring Justin's hyperactivity.
"Yeah, he's calmed down a bit. And he's a boy, by the way."
The lady did a double take and looked at me like I had to be kidding. I smiled and said, "Yeah, I know, he's got long hair. So does his dad. He's a boy."
"Huh. That's weird." She stared at him for a moment, then looked at me sympathetically. "Don't worry, he'll grow out of it."
?
Hey, I'm not terribly worried about it if Daniel chooses to keep his hair long for life. His hair, his choice. And if it doesn't bother him to have to correct people who think he's a girl all the time, why try to get him to change? Just because Blessed is the Norm?
People are sheep.
Anyway. Going to bed now. And we'll see how long I last watching tonight's SVU, which I taped.

Date: 2004-03-30 09:59 pm (UTC)People are stooopid. Why is it when a little girl wears her hair short and dresses like a boy, she's a "cute little tomboy," and when a little boy wears his hair long, he's "weird"?
Morons.
