weekend update
May. 9th, 2004 08:28 pmWhew, what a busy weekend.
Tired. Bed early tonight.
- Saturday day: ballet class in the morning, gardening and shopping with the kids in the afternoon. Not a good time - we were going to shop for the wedding present, wedding clothes for the boys and me, and something else I can't remember, but went home after getting the present. Two hyper little boys grabbing at everything in the mall? Not my idea of a good time.
- Saturday night: bachelorette party. About 9 women, fun time all around, silly games and much drinking by bride. We played one game where the object was to "get the meat in the hole." Picture this: sausage is dropped into a panty hose. Said panty hose is tied around player's waist, with the sausage hanging down between her legs. Player then has to fit the sausage into a gatorade bottle, with no hands. And the bride? Had to do it with a kielbasa.
We also gave the bride a white t-shirt to wear to a bar, with men's names written all over it. Her task: get her shirt signed by men with those names. For every unsigned name, she had to drink a shot. This was OK for names like Rob and Jack and Chris and Joey, not so OK with Ross and Jean-Guy and Giovanni, no good at all with Chandler and Ezekiel. I went home before we hit the bars, so I didn't see the actual end result. I do hope she didn't get alcohol poisoning. - Sunday morning: wonderful Mother's Day breakfast from Chris and the boys, who actually managed to keep a secret for the first time ever. I got crepes with strawberries or apples. Mmmmmmmmm. And a bouquet of pink carnations, and a bottle of white wine and ice wine. My boys love me :)
- Saturday night: BBQ with Dan and Beth and Stephan, and Karolyn. Realized that Karolyn, one of my oldest and dearest friends, had no idea about any of the uterine shenanigans that had gone on this year. Oops. I've been asked to keep her in the loop next time.
And we really should see Dan and Beth more often. It'll be tough this summer: Dan is doing a 2-month rotation in St. Lucia.
Tired. Bed early tonight.
