Lovely late summer day, spent half the day at the Arboretum, played D&D with one of Daniel's friends joining us, pretty good day... and then Guy came by to drop off "some paperwork you should take a look at."

My mother's life insurance policy. Naming me as sole beneficiary. To a rather huge amount of money. Chris was literally speechless when he saw it. I kind of dithered and said "Holy shit" a lot.

Still feeling kind of numb.

How does one respond to that sort of news? Because, on the one hand, money is always good, especially if you live with the burden of constrained finances.

On the other hand, it's a life insurance policy.
