[livejournal.com profile] snarkhunter, I don't know how you do it. Live with bizarre dreams, that is. I had a slew of really, really weird dreams, ending with one where some book-smart, people-dumb person of indeterminate gender was trying to adopt a manipulative antisocial child, and was 'proving' him/herself worthy of parenting by doing whatever said child wanted. What said child wanted was mayhem. Weather-related mayhem. So flash floods kept coming down my street (except then it became an apartment hallway) and freaky weather patterns kept almost blotting us out. Near the end of the dream, I wanted to move.

There was also one earlier than that, where there was an underwater CIA/FBI/NSA-type organization, for the protection of all of our underwater cities(?) and one of the members was ticked off that the agents wanted to misuse the breathing snakes (snakes used to help humans breathe underwater for extended periods of time). He went to arrest a couple on suspicion of something, and when the husband took out a pair of snakes and tried to use them to escape, the agent shot him. Wasn't real happy about doing that, either, since the guy was actually his own father. Wha?

Then he gave a sort of barking lecture to the other agents (of which I was one, apparently) about how serious an offense it was to use one of these things illegally. And we all took him very seriously, what with him having recently shot his own father over it and all. His younger brother, who was also an agent, looked particularly disturbed by the whole thing.

... and this stuff was floating around my subconscious because... ?

In other news, I actuallly got somewhere with my Drabbles On Request yesterday. You all thought I'd forgotten, hadn't you? Well, no fear, [livejournal.com profile] daf9, [livejournal.com profile] bast2, [livejournal.com profile] heathers, and [livejournal.com profile] animaltalker. It may take many moons, and the results may be of questionable literary worth, but I will finish them. Some day. I have a thing about completion, you see.

No problem. Something to look forward to is always nice.

Wow. Those actually beat out my dreams last night.

::facepalm:: I don't know how I do it, either. I just...endure them.
