Justin (very upset with us about something): ...and I don't LOVE Mama and Daddy!! Daniel, you should KILL Mama and Daddy!
Daniel (reasonably): But if they're dead, we'll starve.
That's my boy. Always practical.
Justin: It's OK if your drink spills into your mouth. Because it has to so you can drink it. It's not OK if it spills on the table. But it's OK into your mouth. Like this, see? (pours juice into mouth) I spilled my drink INTO my MOUTH.

Random realization: I'm reading Elfquest to the boys, and they're enjoying it immensely. And in between readings, they often play at being the characters, pretending they're acting out the next scene (which they haven't read yet). I'm listening to them do this, remembering how a few weeks ago they were doing this to Les Miz - I played the soundtrack, explained the story, and they went around for weeks, pretending to be Valjean and The Bad Man (Javert). It occurs to me:
Children do fanfic. All the time.

And, you know, I never thought of it that way, but you're right. Kids DO do fanfic. I played more Narnia games when I was a kid...and what is that, if not live-action fanfic? :)
