This is the part where I sheepisly admit to the fact that, despite being an English teacher, I LOVE THE OUTLANDER BOOKS BY DIANA GABALDON OMG!!!! WHEN WILL THERE BE A NEW ONE?!
Your friend ninja_kat commented to me on my journal so I followed her to her journal to see who she was and found you (apparantly I have too much time on my hands. Seems she found me on a comment thread on snarkhunter's lj.

Oh, I know! As a history geek, I was a little skeptical when ninja_kat loaned me the first one. It looked like a historical romance long on romance and short on history, and I've never been much into romances anyway.
But they suck you in, don't they? I think for me it's the humour that does it. That, and the fact that she's very, very good at giving a good historical feel to her stories.
and the broadswords and men in skirts does not hurt either ;) The history seems pretty good and she really does the romance well. The humor really is great. I have actually read them all...twice *shy grin* I was just thinking that these books would be a great tv series. I came out today to all my friends page! I made an entire post admitting to the fact I read these books and love them.
