Subject: Citibank e_mail verification - ciroccoj2002@yahoo.com

Dear Citibank Member,

This email was sent by the Citibank server to verify your e-mail address. You must complete this process by clicking on the link below and entering in the small window your Citibank ATM/Debit Card number and PIN that you use on ATM. This is done for your protection - because some of our members no longer have access to their email address and we must verify it.

To verify your e-mail address and access your bank account, click on the link below:

Not sure what's the saddest part of this:
  1. That the person who wrote this obviously has a little bit of a brain and tried to make this look as legit as possible and that that brain could have been used for far more productive ends.
  2. That the person was obviously trying to make it look legit but still failed.
  3. That thousands of people will probably be taken in and cheerfully give this idiot their ATM and PIN numbers.

You decide.

You forwarded this on to Citibank, yes? I hope they catch the idiot and hang him out to dry...

Saddest part? All of the above PLUS the fact that Citibank and others end up spending money that otherwise could be used to pay us all higher interest rates.

"Some members no longer have access to their email addresses."

And yet I'm sitting here, READING MY EMAIL.
