bloody hell

Our son Justin has been wearing glasses from Lenscrafters since he was 3 years old - approximately 18 months. In that time, he broke three frames, but never lost a single lens. When his prescription changed, we went to Hakim Optical because they had more flexible frames and because the closest Hakim store was far more conveniently located for us. Justin got two pairs of glasses, and on the first day, lost both left frames - even though he had not actually put on one of the glasses; it was still in its case.
The person at the store where we got the glasses agreed to replace the frames, but felt that what had most probably happened was that our son was too rough with his glasses, or took them off using a sideways motion. We explained that he's been wearing glasses for over a year and has never had this problem, and that he always takes his glasses off carefully, using both hands, but he maintained that the loss of the lenses was Justin's fault.
Over the next few weeks, he lost lenses at least 6 times, until we finally went back to Hakim and asked to get new frames. The person at the store said that probably part of the problem was that we had chosen frames that were too thin for his thick lenses. We were under the impression that the people at Hakim were supposed to help customers picking out frames that would be strong enough for their lenses, since presumably they know more about lenses and frames than we do. However, he agreed to get the lab to replace the lenses free of charge (under warranty). He warned us that the next time, we would have to pay to fix the glasses, since the loss of lenses was almost certainly due to our son being too rough with his glasses.
We finally picked up the two new pairs of lenses for our son yesterday. He has just lost yet another lens.
I am extremely dissatisfied with our experience with Hakim. We would like to go back to Lenscrafters, as we have never had any problem with them in the past, for any of our glasses (three of us wear glasses in our family). However, we would very much like our money back, and an apology for the inconvenience caused to us by shoddy workmanship at the Hakim labs.

Hey, that actually looks like Justin frowning, with one of his lenses gone. Huh.
