ciroccojSo I'm busily getting through my Law Review application, editing an article for content and style, start plowing through the citations with my trusty McGill Guide by my side, check every comma and bracket for proper form and for logic, catch a few major oopsies and many minor ones, get all ready to go online and use QuickLaw to make sure the citations cite what they think they cite, sign on, and get the following message:
Unfortunately your agreement with Quicklaw has expired and you no longer are authorized for Quicklaw access.
::muffled shriek::
Frantic flurry of e-mails to the Library people, QuickLaw, Lexis-Nexis, anybody who can possibly help, call the 1-800 number provided by the QuickLaw site, try not to think of how *&%$ing &$#@ I'm supposed to check 30 cites manually, get an overly peppy customer service chickie-poo (who sounds like she should be chirping "Hello-my-name-is-Marie" at a Burger Lord joint instead of a major law info service) who tells me that all agents are currently busy and takes my number so they'll call me back, instead of thinking about how to do this manually while I wait I work on more editing, finally get a call back from a somewhat more reassuring-sounding lady who takes my info and within a few minutes, has me logged back in.
