For a person who's spent most of the day frantically reading, editing and freaking out, I've sure lj-spammed a lot today.
Went to pick up Justin from day care today and found him in a little group of four kids hunkered down next to a tree, absorbed in some serious nature watching and whispering to each other something about (I think) ants. Unfortunately I was not able to ascertain exactly what it was they were observing, because as soon as Justin saw me he came running, hugged me, started yammering about bugs and told me some of his friends at lunch had stepped on a caterpillar and they were NOT showing COMPASSION and RESPECT!!
It seems Buddha Buddies lessons go deep.

Asked him how his second day of big boy school went. "It was way better than CRAZY GOOD!"
***
Chris comes home and both kids burst out into their daily welcome cheer, which goes like this:
DADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDY!!!!!
A few minutes later, our Vietnamese next door neighbour comes home. His 2-year old daughter, who can only say "Hi" and "Bye" in English, starts jumping up and down yelling DADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDYDADDY!!!!!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I suppose :)

So. I've now hunted down and verified all but two of my footnotes. And done the first edit for nitpicks and overall writerly worth. Now I just need to get all of my notes in order.
("Just," she says. "Just" get all those multicoloured, cryptic, arrow-filled and abbreviation-happy notes in order. Bwahahahaha.)

Well, hey, as long as he isn't torturing ants with a magnifying glass, I'd say you're doing pretty good. ^_^
Gotta love the Vietnamese kid though...
Are they multi-color post-it notes? If they are, feel my envy rays. I love multi-color post-its... ^_^

Date: 2004-09-22 07:36 am (UTC)Chris takes the kids to a "Buddhism for kids" thing every last Sunday of the month. It's a bit like Sunday school. One day their lesson & craft had to do with Compassion, Love, Respect and one other tenet of Buddhism I can't for the life of me remember.
Are they multi-color post-it notes?
Heh, no, just highlighting. Lots and lots and lots of highlighting.
