The Expurgated Version
Sep. 28th, 2004 02:25 pm- Really neat dinner last night. The four of us spent about two hours catching up on the last 15 years - jobs, births, deaths, marriages, baptisms, moves, mutual acquaintances, spouses, parents, etc etc etc.
Found out the world is incredibly small - you can go to Holland and run into somebody from your high school and find out he just ran into somebody else from your high school in England.
Found out one of our classmates is now living in Nova Scotia and out of the closet, which he'd inhabited with very little success, and realized that it's really not true that "the guys get the best and the girls get the rest." Pity the (male) gay population of Nova Scotia.
Found out that fifteen years can really just drop away within minutes, and the laugh lines, wedding rings, and tinges of grey in our hair really don't mean much. - Still jazzed about the Law Review. Hee!
- Poor Justin went to the eye doctor today. Nice guy, no news other than yes, Justin will need glasses for the rest of his life. One major bad spot: I know there's probably good reasons for doing it this way, but I really wish that when a medical professional is going to do something painful to a child, they would say, "This is going to hurt a lot" rather than "This might sting a bit." Justin is incredibly brave with needles and all sorts of other painful events, but the eye drops caught him by surprise and were devastatingly painful. Thank god ice cream can make everything better for him.
- Tomorrow looks to be the day from hell.
8:30-10:00 Int'l Environmental Law
12:00-1:00 Law Review Training
1:30-? Wisdom Teeth
4:30-6:30 Meet the Teacher(s)
6:30-7:30 Beavers
7:30-9:30 Choir
And no, I don't actually expect to be able to do anything after the wisdom teeth thing. But I have heard of people going on with their day after the operation. Not many, but it can be done.
