Things I have learned or had reinforced in the last 24 hours:

• White people can sing negro spirituals, but they really shouldn't try to dance them onstage.
  
• Canadian composers of choral music really, really, really suck. Except for Mark Sirett.
  
• Banning teenagers from doing anything is not only silly, it's an exercise in utter futility. Unless they're doing crack, really, save your breath. BTW, welcome back, TC :)
  
• Seasons 1 & 2 of Homicide: Life on the Streets will be out on DVD soon! Whoo! I just may clear a whole lot of VCR tape space!
