...as in, I need one this morning.

I ran into one of my classmates from last year. Caught up on our summers, then on what courses we're taking this year. She's taking all the granola courses I want: Feminist Legal Theory, Immigration, Lesbian and Gay Legal Issues, etc. And I'm stuck in Contracts and Property. ::sigh::

She asked who I had for Contracts, and she had the same prof last year. "Oh, you know the secret of her class? You don't actually have to do any readings. I didn't crack the casebook open in the second term, and I still got an A. She goes over each case so well in class that you really don't need to read the original."

Well, hell, I don't need to hear that. I don't need an excuse to skip reading about people who sued a parking garage for dinging their car, and did they have a contract with the garage or not, and did the contract cover dings, and etc etc.

Then, this morning, I forgot my course outline. So I have Contracts in a few hours, haven't read the cases, am not sure which cases I'm supposed to read, and know I don't have to read any of them.

So, will I decide to do the right thing and read anyway?

Do I look like an idiot?

Please don't answer that.

In other news, Justin decided to water our TV with a sprayer last night. Our big TV. Our big TV that my mom gave us, because we certainly don't have the money to buy (or fix) anything like that. And as of last night, our TV doesn't work. We hope that when we come home tonight, the water will have dried and the TV will be OK. Because otherwise, we'll have a very large paperweight in our living room

I followed a link from [livejournal.com profile] sangerin's lj to the Top 100 Challenged Books of 1990-1999. It's unreal. Some, I understand why some people would have a problem with them. Books about sex, or homosexuality, or drug use. Lots of people get antsy about that kind of thing. But others... Bridge to Terabithia? The Giver? A Wrinkle in Time? Blubber? To Kill a Mockingbird? Where's Waldo?!

I also find it disturbing that "What's Happening to my Body? Book for Girls: A Growing-Up Guide for Parents & Daughters" comes in at #35, but "What's Happening to my Body? Book for Boys: A Growing-Up Guide for Parents & Sons" comes in a #58. So... boys should be reassured about wet dreams, but god forbid any girl be warned about BLEEDING.

People are insane.

Anyway, here's the list for anybody who just wants to read it from here:
