So I'm taking my mandatory Alternative Dispute Resolution course, and having a hell of a time getting into the course website but otherwise enjoying it a lot more than Property and Contracts. Then yesterday we get a notice from the lawyers handling our lawsuit, saying that both parties in the suit (us and the driver who hit Chris on his motorcycle two years ago) have been scheduled to attend a mediation session at the ADR centre in Toronto in November, to see if we can settle the suit without going to trial. And my first thought is, Oh god, I do not want to go to Toronto, I hate hate hate hate Toronto, and what a pain, and whyyyy do we have to go...

And then my next thought is... hey... maybe I can get credit for writing a paper based on our very own ADR mediation. So I've sent off an e-mail to my prof to see if that's possible.

I like our prof so far. Very interesting, and seems down-to-earth. I like my TA, too? Even though she gives off a clueless vibe? ::giggle:: She handles the techie part of the course too? And she's been pretty helpful during my web troubles? ::giggle:: I just wish she could speak in declarative sentences? And stop giggling?
